Nothing is Permanent

As I drove to work this morning and waited at a red stop light I turned my head to see a bulldozer/excavator tearing up the concrete.  I was in awe to see something so permanent being torn apart at an instant.  The machine that was tearing it up made it look so easy, yet you and I know that concrete is hard, sustaining, "permanent".  At that very moment I heard God tell me "nothing is permanent".  There is nothing that He can not tear away from your heart or mind. His mercies are new every morning and His power is greater than anything that is holding you back right now.  He is able to reap out any regret, heartache, pain from the past and make it new again.  You see, that excavator was tearing up the concrete so that a new road can be laid down.  God wants to do just that! Let Him tear away at anything that is old, faded and wearing you down in your heart.  He has the best for you.
His hands hold the new road for you.
Let Him work and you will see greater things begin to take form.

Joel 2:12-14

The Lord says, "Even now, come back to me with all your heart.
Fast, cry, and be sad."

Tearing your clothes is not enough to show you are sad; let your heart be broken.
Come back to the Lord your God, because he is kind and shows mercy.
He doesn't become angry quickly, and he has great love.
He can change his mind about doing harm.
Who knows? Maybe he will turn back to you and leave behind a blessing for you.
